J.R. Sabater, S.A. is a company established in 1976, its primary activity being solely the bottling of wine vinegar. Later, in 1982, the project to build a vinegar manufacturing and packaging plant, as well as a quality control laboratory, was completed. The plant is located on a 7,500 m2 plot in the town of Cabezo de Torres, located 5 km from the city of Murcia.
Since 1982 until today, the company has been progressively implementing new equipment and machinery, applying the latest technology for the manufacture and packaging of vinegars. All this investment in equipment and technology has made J.R. Sabater, S.A. a benchmark and one of the leaders in the sector today, with a production capacity of 60 million litres.
Another turning point in the company’s history came in 2004. That year, construction began on another Manufacturing and Bottling Plant in Jerez de la Frontera, as well as another fully equipped Quality Control Laboratory. In addition, a winery was built on this site for aging vinegars with the Jerez Designation of Origin. The winery began aging vinegars with 8,000 French and American oak barrels.
The plant is located on a 5,000 m2 plot in the heart of Jerez de la Frontera and is part of the Regulatory Council of Wines and Vinegars of Jerez de la Frontera.
In 2007 the project was completed and bottling of the first batches of 100% Reserva Sherry Vinegar manufactured and aged at the Jerez Plant began.
In 2008, J.R. Sabater, S.A. began the year by obtaining BRC and IFS certifications.
During 2009 we tackled the project of developing another family of products parallel to the traditional range of vinegar. The work focused on products related to syrups and liquid candies. This project was completed in 2010 with the implementation of the most modern technology for the production of Balsamic Creams, Syrups and Liquid Caramels.
Today, J.R. Sabater, S.A. remains faithful to its principles and its business policy, which consists of reinvesting its profits in the company itself, in order to maintain its leading position in both the national and international markets. Year after year, investment in production equipment, human resources, process innovation and Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) is key to achieving our goals and social strategy.
